Azimuth angle question

#1

Dear all,

I have a question regarding the solar azimuth parameter, which is defined as:
The angle between a line pointing due north to the sun’s current position in the sky. Negative to the East. Positive to the West. 0 at due North. (https://articles.solcast.com.au/en/articles/2790853-historical-data-glossary-of-terms)
So does my interpretation shown in the attached picture below correct?
Azimuth%20angle
Thank you!

Best,
Fadhil Ahmad

Hi Fadhil,

That is correct, this I believe largely comes from the fact that Solcast is an Australian based company and the research done used equations with these values of negative for East and positive for West.
